Week 11 - Mo Money, Less Problems
I read a cool tweet on March 18th. Now I'm building the first investor-backed company in the world managed by an AI.
If you know startups, you know raising capital -always- takes longer than expected.
Investors say they’re in? Great.
Lawyers finished reviewing the shareholders agreement? Nice.
Have investors approved terms and signed? Cool.
Called everyone that hasn’t transferred funds yet? Great.
Have you registered the deal with local authorities? Awesome.
-Now- you’ve raised capital.
74 days after starting a 1h/day experiment for fun, I now find myself behind the wheel of a viral company with resources to build the craziest fashion/entertainment brand of 2023.
My US tour ends today with a bang - we’re going live on CBS News’ stream in a couple of hours, as part of the documentary on AI they’re releasing in a couple of days.
Growing up in Europe, you read a lot about the US and how much it’s changed in the last 20 years. Feeling the call to be around inspiring creative minds, I set my sights on moving here for a year or two (or three - let’s see).
After spending time in Palo Alto, Austin and NYC, I have to say reality is very different from news reports, as one would expect.
I’ve met tons of talented people happily living their lives and chasing their dreams.
If you read the news, you’d think half the country is shooting each other 24/7.
After all, the media industry makes its money by capturing attention, and unfortunately we’re biased to focus on the negative - so that’s what gets published.
Sure, inequality is a big challenge. Leaders haven’t found a political compromise that allows it to take care of its citizens in vital areas such as health care and gun violence.
In that sense, you probably can’t call the US a first world country.
It’s more like a first world arena - you’re either born there, or you jump in to aim high and fight for your goals.
Doctors not included - enter at your own risk.
Aisthetic content was on hold until the round was closed and we could finally fire up our marketing campaigns - things are about to get fun, and I’m super curious to see how chatGPT starts allocating our budget.
I’m now the CEO of a Danish company despite not being there in over 3 years.
The world is truly borderless in a digital economy, and for all the things society needs to get better at, this is something powerful we should celebrate.
See you soon,
J
